AU library will be open for all Ajman Emirate’s community members, schools’ students of age 15 and above, researchers from other universities and all Ajman government employees.

Ajman University Library is pleased to invite all Ajman Emirate’s community members, schools' students of age 15 and above, researchers from other universities and all Ajman governmental employees to join AU Library membership in accordance with the following rules & terms:

  • Ajman University Library invites members of the community to conduct research at our campus in Ajman city by participating in our Community Borrowers program.
  • Community Borrowers provide a 500 AED deposit to establish a membership which allows them to use most of the Library’s resources subject to availability.
  • The 500 AED deposit is a refundable deposit.
  • When a user submits completed form to cancel membership to Library staff and surrenders library card he/ she can refund his/ her deposit.
  • Annual membership and Borrower Card fees are 50 Dirhams.
  • Community Borrowers may access the Internet and use the library’s online databases inside the library in accordance with the AU Library Internet Access Policy and borrow items from the Library collection, excluding media and software.

  • These guidelines include respecting the rules and customs of the University and nation and the library timing for each gender.
  • Interested community members are invited to complete the application for Community Borrower status and to bring this application along with a photocopy of his/her EID and the 500 AED deposit to the university campus (Finance Office) to establish Community Borrower status.
  • Approved applicants will be issued a membership card which will be used to access the Library and borrow materials on future visits.
  • It is preferred to pre-arrange a date and time to bring these items to ensure that the services of the cashier at the Finance Office will be available.

 

Loan Policies – General:

  • Community borrowers will be required to show photo identification when checking materials out.
  • Community borrowers are eligible to check out (5 books) for 21 days loan period - Checked out materials may be renewed once (unless overdue).
  • All borrowers must agree to abide by the Library's policies, including the acceptance of responsibility for overdue and replacement charges, and collection account fees if incurred.
  • Holds may be placed on most items, but not reserves.
  • Most items may be renewed if there are no holds placed.
