    • Abstract:
      The article explores the important role of commercial press in promoting the benefits of philanthropic and charitable programs in the U.S. An overview on the challenge of scale and complexity in local media of promoting social and public service is discussed. It also highlights the advocacy of Free Press, a Dodge grantee on providing funds for public-media projects to support social services programs in the country.
